Safer Walks with Your Dog
Little is more frightening than having your dog slip out of his collar during an on-leash walk, leaving him running free without identification. This all-to-common scenario occurs when a dog’s collar is too loose. Sometimes a buckle collar is simply the wrong size-too loose-but sometimes it is fitted just right and it still can slide off. This is a big problem for dogs with narrow heads, like greyhounds and many others.
Martingale or Greyhound Collars
For these dogs and others who are simply uncomfortable in an appropriately snug-fitting collar, a martingale collar can be the best choice. Sometimes known as greyhound collars, martingales are limited slip collars which tighten slightly when your dog pulls against the leash. An extra loop of fabric allows the dog collar to tighten a small amount, usually just a few inches, when the loop is pulled tight by a leash. Martingale collars tighten but can not choke a dog like some other slip collars can. They are safe and pain-free.
Martingale dog collars come in many colors and designs, like regular buckle dog collars. You can find snazzy red martingales or fancy holiday designs. You can get designer dog collars in the martingale style as well as leash/collar combinations that make it easy to take your dog for walks.
A martingale collar is a great way to keep your dog safe and comfortable when walking on a leash. A properly fitted martingale collar won’t slip off your dog’s head in a moment of panic, leaving you confident and able to enjoy your walks. Happy walking!

When I first heard about “Daniel Steven’s SitStayFetch” program from a friend of mine I simply couldn’t believe how easy she was making it sound.
“Oh no” I thought “another so called expert to tell me things I’ve tried and simply cannot get to work with my dogs on my own.”
I put my guard up even higher when I read the product’s sales letter. It makes some pretty bold claims for success on dog home obedience training and you can be sure that I was extremely skeptical from the beginning. Boy was I ever wrong!
I’m ready to acknowledge that my early negative opinions were misplaced. Once I read the sales letter on dog home obedience training I blew it off for months. Then out of nowhere a friend of mine called me and she was so excited. “Rilee I have been working with Baxter and he got it. He is trained. I’m able to go on walks with him now and he doesn’t pull anymore and all his bad behaviors are gone. All because of that professional dog training course we talked about.”
After that phone call I gave it some more thought… after all Baxter was a pretty naughty puppy and even dog obedience school didn’t help him. I re-read the sales letter and obviously yes I did buy the program. I opened it up and started listening to all the lessons and was completely blown away!
We’ve tried various methods from the “do-it-yourself based on what you think” method to various methods using a dog training course to obedience training school. It wasn’t until we purchased “SitStayFetch” that we were able to gain control as the alpha dog and get the dogs to listen and respect us. We now fully enjoy our dogs all the time and the love and loyalty and companionship we have. We have truly accomplished dog obedience training from home.
