Unexpectedly Up And Getting A Classic Mustang

Posted by admin on Oct 31, 2008 in Main Content

Well, I haven’t so much had any time to speak on the weblog quite as much as I had expected, because of how much I’ve been dealing with my old man fuel his incredibly wacky midlife crisis. True, I guess it’s not as far out as it could possibly be. You see, how he did it was he got all done up like he was Fonzie or something, and come on over to my house and tell me, in his hippest possible vocal tone: “Hop in, bro, we are out scouting for some classic Ford Mustangs for sale. You better believe it, dude, it’s about time I buy an old school muscle car.”

Right then and there him and me were on our way to some of those creepy classic car showrooms that you’re just about certain are mob-run, and I can’t believe it when the crazy old guy cut a check within just a few minutes, for an extremely sparkly classic Ford Mustang. It’s quite machine. It sounded amazing too.

There’s a reason why I said that last sentence in the past tense. It sounded really nice right until it stopped making any noises. The old man maintains that it is just a simple problem and that all he requires is the right part. The problem is, it’s not as straightforward to locate 1967 Mustang parts as it was like 30 years ago, but my Dad insists that there’s a pretty nice-sized availability for them regardless. Apparently the the easiest way to find parts for 1966 Mustangs is actually online auctions, since you can get them all refurbished and occasionally as good as they were 30 years ago. Not necessarily super-cheap, however… Get real, they are thirty year old automotive parts.

Not as bad as some midlife crises, I suppose. Imagine if he would’ve bought a harley.
